Biography
Born in 1982 in Lorraine, France, Maxime Marion lives and works in Paris.
Its production focuses on issues related to new medias : generativity, design of interactivity, algorithmic cinema, identity and social hacking, online viral strategies.
After a Bachelor of Fine Arts in the Ecole Nationale Superieure d’Art de Nancy in 2005, he joins the Ecole Supérieure d'Art d'Aix-en-Provence and works in the Atelier Hypermedia with Douglas Edric Stanley. He starts the development of the algorithmic movie project
Paramnesis and
Chessynthesis, an interactive sound installation based on chess. At the same time, he plays with Steim & locus sonus, shows his works in France and abroad, and participates in the Colina european laboratory in Marseille.
After a Master of Fine Arts in 2007, he’s particularly interested about locative media, as well as the social changes generated by the Internet. He then joins the Ensad Lab FdM, directed by Jean-Louis Boissier, at the Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Arts Decoratifs in Paris.
In 2008, he starts to work with Emilie Brout on several projects :
The Road Between Us, shown in the Version Beta biennial at the CIC, Geneva ; and
Tempo, created in the in/out laboratory initiated by the CiTu.
